Single player games are great, but there is something special about playing through a game with a friend or a partner in the same room. Growing up, I played plenty of couch co-op games with my brother, but this subset of games seems to be waning in popularity in more modern console cycles. So, for this video I have amassed and ranked what I think are the 7 best couch co-op games you can play right now on the PlayStation 5. The games featured in this video (in alphabetical order) are:

While it's fun to explore single-player games and get lost in their narratives, there's a special feeling that can't be replicated when sitting down and playing a game with a person you care about, hey everyone welcome to play ranked share the show where I play the Marquee.

The PS5 I would love to hear your thoughts and with that out of the way, let's jump in the Quarry is a Choose Your, Own, Adventure style, horror game in the vein of b-style movies.
Nine Camp counselors have their last day of summer quickly turn into a nightmare as they stumble upon horrific creatures at hackett's quarry summer camp.
Your choices matter in the Quarry as one wrong move can lead to any of the main characters dying.
It's even possible to have all of them die before finishing the game.
You can also set which players control, which characters leading to times where you can chide your partner for making a choice that ended up, hurting the characters, I loved sitting on the couch and playing this game with my partner.
Even if the game is a little rough around the edges.
My biggest strateet of the Quarry is that the ending fell flat for me, which is a pretty big deal when it's a narrative, focused game.
Maybe this happened because of the combination of characters that died in the lead-up to my version of the ending, but regardless I wish the game stuck The Landing, while I didn't like the destination that Corey brought me to I loved my time on the journey, despite its flaws and my partner and I spent much time discussing the game in between play sessions, I recommend the Quarry to anyone, who's interested in horror, style games, and especially, if you like, the idea of gain the power to control who lives and who dies based on your actions.
For those craving a nostalgic experience back to the PS2 era, Destroy All, Humans, 2 reprobed, might be the best game to fill that void.
A crude over-the-top, open, World experience has you playing as an alien named crypto, who finds himself in the middle of a world-ending plot during the 1970s, where he has to travel to fictional versions of San, Francisco, London and Soviet Russia to save the Earth, so he can dominate it.
The game has both free roam and every story mission available to play in Split Screen Co-op, while the state of the co-op and Destroy All Humans doesn't best occupy the screen real estate of your TV.
This story-based game can set up hilarious moments for you to play with your friends as you use your out of this world Arsenal to wreak hav it across the sits playscapes in the game.
Without a doubt, Tiny Tina's wonderlands is the highest budgeted game on this list.
A spin-off of the Borderlands franchise Tiny Tina's wonderlands has a medieval setting as you're, basically playing through a DND campaign set up by the titular character.
Even though this game is a spin-off, it still comes equipped with the Staples of the Borderlands franchise, including stylish Graphics, the best looter shooter formula in the industry and plenty of quippy one-liners.
The game is also equipped with a full playable campaign and split screen with up to four players on the PS5.
While you sacrifice a bit of visual Fidelity of the game by enabling split screen, you can enjoy a fully fledged AAA game from start to finish, playing on your couch with a friend, something that has become exceedingly rare in the modern console era, when LittleBigPlanet first debuted as a franchise, it was all about players creating levels for others to enjoy.
However, in this latest entry Sackboy, a big adventure is focused on 3D platforming levels created by developer, Sumo digital I loved this new Tate on the franchise and playing through a big adventure reminded me of Super Mario 3D World, another excellent, couch, Co-op game I enjoy Sackboy.
Big adventure can be played in single player, but figuring out the puzzles and exploring these worlds with a friend made the game.
A more enjoyable experience to me.
Additionally, there are hidden Co-op exclusive sections littered around the game that could be a range of challenges from chaotic minigames to brain teasers, for you and your companion to figure out Sackboy doesn't tell a deep story, but it's a very polished platformer and keeps things refreshing with different gimmets to keep everyone entertained across its 10 hour campaign.
While it was marketed as a single player game to me, it feels like nobody saves.
The world was designed to be a co-op experience in the vein of classic arcade games.
You are a nobody who can transform into many different forms, and you have to defeat waves of enemies through various dungeons where I found co-ops to come in clutch with this game is that dungeons can frankly get extremely difficult when playing on your own and having a partner in the trenches with you can help lessen that burden.
The only downside to co-op in nobody is that players can only edit their character one at a time, leaving a lot of time spent in menus as each player adjusts their characters to the need of a specific dungeon and getting that perfect build down.
Despite these flaws, nobody has a fun and witty story with a rewarding gameplay Loop.
That left me wanting to go back and make more progress every night chicory, a colorful tale is my second favorite couch Co-op game on the PlayStation 5, and it's one that I think a lot of people have been sleeping on tasked with a Charming painting mechanic chittery has you exploring a world that has become a blank canvas and you need to bring the color back.
Your options are Limitless with the painting mechanic leading things to do quickly off their rails, and this is especially fun with two players, as your creativities run.
Wild while exploring the world chicory, is also a game with a deep story.
Leaving me curious to see where it would take me next.
Your protagonist is adorable and lifts the spirits and improves the lives of people around them.
While unfolding this mystery of where all the color went player 2 is sometimes left with less to do, but this is a wholesome game from start to finish, it was a breath of fresh air with this out of the box approach to game design.
I think, naturally, it takes two tops.

Market I hope that developers at the top of the industry keep producing high quality, couch Co-op experiences and that this list will be updated with more hit games in the years to come.
